James Allen Cummings, Jr. (Jimmy) departed this life peacefully on Tuesday June 13, 2023 at the Pruitt Health Care Center in Walterboro due to complications from Pneumonia.

He was the Son of  the late James Allen Cummings, Sr. (Dick) and the late Phyllis Coates Cummings of Walterboro, SC.

Jimmy was born on June 8, 1953 in Topeka, Kansas where his Father was stationed at the Forbes Air Force Base. He was 70 years old. Jimmy graduated from Walterboro High School in 1972 and he obtained an Associates Degree in Horticulture from Trident Technical College in 1974. While in school Jimmy worked at the Asten Dryer Plant in Walterboro. In 1975, Jimmy moved to Cocoa Florida where he worked in landscaping and attended the Brevard Jr. College to further his education in Horticulture. In 2003, he moved back to Walterboro due to health issues.

While growing up Jimmy loved to play sports, hunt, and fish, and was a member of Evergreen Christian Church. Jimmy always loved nature and the outdoors and his favorite hobbies were fishing and wildlife photography.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his Grandparents Conrad Cummings and Irene O’quinn Cummings and his parents James Allen Cummings, Sr . and Phyllis Coates Cummings.

He is survived by his only Sister, Diana Cummings Bennett (Eddie) of Walterboro, his nieces, Bethany Way Geere (Amadeo) of Columbia, SC and Erin Way Watson (Matt) of Nolensville, Tn. Jimmy also leaves behind his lifelong best friend Billy Linder of Walterboro and is favorite cousin, Butch Robbins, of Walterboro, SC.  He had no children or wife.
