Friends and family gathered at Little Rock Holliness Church in Creel Town to honor the 60+ year marriage of Chief Johnnie N. Creel and Mrs. Rosalee Creel. The Creels were married on July 17, 1965. Chief Creel (90) is believed to be the longest living descendant within the Tribal Community’s documented history. The surprise gathering included a Proclamation from Colleton County Council, read by County Council Chairman Scott Biering and an additional presentation from the South Carolina House of Representatives. The South Carolina Senate is passing a resolution this week. Dr. John Creel current Chief of the Edisto Natchez-Kusso Tribe presided over the recognitions with a wonderful meal wrapping up the event.
