Mr. David Hampton Craven, 75, of Green Pond, entered into eternal rest Monday morning, May 29, 2023 at his residence. 

Born August 16, 1947, in Walterboro, he was a son of the late Harry Henry Craven and Jennie Marie Drawdy Craven.  He was a retired heavy equipment operator and was better known as “Snake”.

Surviving are: his children, John Leland, Kim Bryson (Tommy) and Teresa Fletcher (Paul); the mother of his children, Dot Work; brothers, Johnny Craven (Jan) and Larry Craven (TC); grandchildren, Sabrina Leland, Christopher Leland, Tyler Thurston, Nicholas Martin, Gabriel Bartlett, and Myles Martin; 3 great grandchildren; his “bush daughter”, Tonya Huckert (Joey); and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and by his son, Daniel Harry Craven.

Funeral services were held 2 o’clock, Friday afternoon, June 2, 2023, at Great Swamp Baptist Church, Hendersonville Highway, Walterboro.  Interment followed in Jacksonboro Baptist Church Cemetery, Charleston Highway, Jacksonboro.
