The Colleton County Veterans Council held its 2025 Veterans Parade Awards Dinner on Thursday, November 20th. The dinner began with a prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance by Scott Karal. Bob Tiegs, the Parade Chairman, welcomed everyone to the gathering. Mrs. Janey Smith, Council VSO, presented an overview of the parade and helped Bob Tiegs present the awards. The parade had over 40 entries this year making the judges decisions on the winners very difficult. Honorary Parade Judges, Patricia Williams, Sherry Atkins-Robinson and Donald Davis, selected Walterboro Boy Scouts Troop and Pack #646 1st Place, American Legion Post #93 2nd Place, and the Walterboro Elks Lodge #1988 won 3rd Place. Nate Knox Co-Chairman of the event gave closing comments for the evening.
