Academic Achievements

• Per the Spring i-Ready Diagnostic Assessment, students scoring on grade level in grades 3-8 increased 21% in ELA and 20% in Math.

• The number of students receiving a high school diploma increased from 270 to 303.

• CCSD Class of 2024 graduates earned scholarships totaling over $7,081,179.00.

• CCSD Class of 2024 had three students to receive the South Carolina Academic Honor Award. This award has not been received by a student at CCHS since 2018.

• CCSD Class of 2024 had 14 students to receive a USC- Salkehatchie Associate Degree through the Early College Program.

• CCSD Class of 2024 had one student to receive a Dual Enrollment Associate Degree.

• CCSD Class of 2024 had 15 Distinguished Honor Graduates (4.9 and higher cumulative GPA) and 29 Honor Graduates (4.5 – 4.89 cumulative GPA).

CATE Achievements

• 134 students graduated as CATE Completers of which 10 were double completers and 1 triple completer.

• Health Science students achieved a 100% passage rate for CNA Certification.

• Work -Based Learning Successes:

- Welding-Worked with Colleton Fire Rescue in the construction of a fire training facility

- Health Science-Worked at the Veterans Victory House

- Veterinary Science-Worked at the Colleton County Animal Shelter caring for facility animals

- Early Childhood Education 1 & 2-Worked with BSECC and NES

• Implementation of OSHA Certification through PE Classes

• Implementation of First Aid Certification through Personal Health Classes

• Barbering and Nail Tech will be offered in the 2024-2025 school year.

Fiscal Achievements

• CCSD is currently investing in the Local Government Investment Pool offered through the Office of the State Treasurer.

• CCSD has successfully passed all annual financial audits over the past 17 years.

• CCSD is considered low risk auditee for federal funds by the State Department of Education as a result of commendable financial management.

• CCSD actively seeks and regularly obtains grants in order to provide innovative programs for students.

• The Teacher Pay Scale has been brought up to the state minimum with a beginning salary of $47,000.

Culture/Climate Initiatives

• CCSD has partnered with the Behavioral Alliance of South Carolina to strengthen the MTSS Framework.

• CCSD has developed and implemented the IMPACT program for elementary students that is intended to provide support tier 3 to students in a small group setting.

• Incidents of fighting have decreased by 34% as a result of combined efforts including the institution of a “zero tolerance” response and collaborative institution of PBIS, SEL initiatives.

• CCSD routinely recognizes and celebrates students and staff for achievements in academics, attendance, social growth and character development.

• CCSD elementary and middle schools have implemented Safety Patrol, “Lunch Buddies” and peer mediation initiatives.
