Mrs. Shirley Isgette Bitters, 88, of Charleston, entered into rest Friday, July 7, 2023, at Magnolias of Walterboro.

Born July 25, 1934, in Cottageville, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Willie Eugene Isgette and the late Julia Ansley Jacques Isgette. She retired from the Storm Eye Institute of the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston and was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Charleston. She will always be remembered as an excellent cook and for her love of flowers.

Surviving are: a daughter, Beth Bitters Yohe and her husband Richard of Charleston; a daughter-in-law, Shirley R. Bitters of Grover; two brothers, George Isgette and Harold Isgette and his wife Peggy; three grandchildren, Eric Yohe and his wife Jennifer, Jessica Freeman and her husband Nick and Charles Starks and his husband Brian; and four great grandchildren, Shelby, Wesley, William, and David. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews whom she loved each dearly. She was preceded in death by her son, Steve Bitters; and by a sister, Pauline Steinmeyer.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be directed in her memory to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 o’clock Tuesday morning, July 11, 2023, from the graveside in Jacques Cemetery. The Reverend Ben Burt officiating.
