This week’s #firefighterfriday presents Firefighter/EMT Erin Baez. Firefighter/EMT Baez is assigned to the Station 19 Platoon on “B” shift.
Erin entered the fire service in 2015 as a volunteer firefighter with the 8th District Fire in Manchester, Connecticut. Over the years, Erin held different positions that included Fire Prevention Director, 1st Lieutenant, and Company President. Erin was motivated to join the fire service to help others in their time of need and be a good role model for her children. After obtaining her NREMT, she began working for Newington EMS. As if she didn’t have enough to keep her busy, she also served as a dispatcher for the 8th District. Erin served faithfully until 2021, when her family relocated to Colleton County. Erin was hired by Colleton County Fire-Rescue in November 2021 and was assigned to “D” shift serving the Bells community. She later moved into a 24/48 position. She is currently in paramedic school and continuing to advance her fire education.
