Get to know #yourColletonFirefighter Chris Jones on #firefighterfriday. Battalion Chief Chris Jones is the “C” shift supervisor, a position he has held since 2018. Here is more information on Battalion Chief Jones:

Chief Jones entered the fire service in 1995 as a volunteer for Goose Creek Fire Department and transitioned to a career position that same year. In 1999, he obtained his Paramedic certification. Over the years, he embraced the opportunity to work at various departments, which expanded his knowledge. In 2008, he began working for Colleton County Fire-Rescue, the place he calls “home.” Chief Jones said he was motivated to join the fire service because of the one day on, two days off schedule. However, he says, “I quickly realized this job has way more benefits than just the work schedule. The group of firefighters we have at Colleton County Fire-Rescue are unbelievably great, and with the support received from the county, it makes doing a hard job very enjoyable. We literally have the BEST equipment in the industry!”

Chief Jones is married, and together they have two children. On his days off, he splits time between his home in Goose Creek and their lakehouse on Lake Marion in Eutawville. He also enjoys a good game of hockey and getting out on his boat.
