Get to know #yourColletonFirefighter Kenneth Glover on #firefighterfriday. Firefighter Glover is a volunteer assigned to Station 9 serving the Cottageville community. Here is more information about Firefighter Glover:

Firefighter Glover is a retired commercial truck driver who has logged numerous miles traveling the country. After retiring, he was looking for something to occupy his time. As luck would have it, McDanieltown Church was holding a community walk, and Mr. Glover decided to attend. Upon arriving at the event, he noticed Fire-Rescue personnel and apparatus. He thought it was amazing to see the crews supporting the local community. When speaking with one of the firefighters, he asked, “How do I join?” These four words landed him where he is today. “When you travel many miles a year, you see things. I always wanted to know how I could better assist folks during my travels, but time wouldn’t allow for it. I didn’t get my chance to really give back until after retiring, but hey, here I am!” Firefighter Glover joined the department in 2018 and is an active responder in the Cottageville community.

Mr. Glover is a very talented handyman; he can always be found building something new or fixing things that are in need of repair. His most recent project has him assisting Battalion Chief Feather with building props and wooden structures at Fire-Rescue’s new training facility. He likes gardening and is an active member at Sandhill United Church. Mr. Glover has been married for twenty-six years to his wife, Joyce. For more information @Colletoncountyfire.
