Get to know #yourColletonFirefighter Bryan Eadon on #firefighterfriday. Captain Eadon serves as the Station 1 Platoon Captain on “A” Shift. Here is more information on Captain Eadon:

Bryan entered the fire service while attending school at Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College. He joined his hometown volunteer department, St. George Fire Department, and would hang out around the station when he wasn’t in class. He enjoyed the atmosphere and was fulfilling his childhood dream of becoming a firefighter. After college, he decided to make the jump to become a career firefighter and accepted a “D” shift position at Colleton County Fire-Rescue. He spent a year on “D” shift learning the county and the intricacies of the department before he was moved to a 24/48 position. After a few years and a lot of EMT experience under his belt, Bryan decided to take the next step, Paramedic school. He buckled down and put his home life on hold for eighteen months in order to complete the program. All the effort and hard work paid off when he was finally able to call himself a Firefighter/Paramedic. In 2014, Bryan was promoted to Captain; he is responsible for three stations, seven firefighters, and seventeen Fire-Rescue vehicles. The Station 1 fleet is made up of three medic units, three fire engines, three tenders, three boats, one dive truck, one boat support truck, one brush truck, one ladder truck, and a Heavy Rescue. When asked what he loves most about his job, he said, “This job allows you to give back and serve others, which I really enjoy. It’s something different each day!”

Bryan loves spending time with his family, coaching his children’s sports teams, and traveling. When it is time to slow down a little, he enjoys hunting.
