“When We Were Young” book signing comes to Colleton

Press Release - InkNook Publishing is delighted to announce the launch of “When We Were Young” by Savannah E. Kennedy, a resident of Walterboro. A book signing will be held at the Colleton Farmer’s Market on Saturday, October 23 from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

Kennedy was born in Colleton County but her mother, Mary “Mamie” White Kennedy, who also grew up in Colleton, moved to Brooklyn, N.Y. Years later, Kennedy moved back to her home town, and she has been here ever since.

She attended a religious women’s conference where she was told by the pastor that she needed to write a book. Kennedy listened and wrote “When We Were Young”.

The book is an intimate and empowering story of a young woman coming of age and the lessons she learned from the women who influenced her life.

The book showcases what Kennedy has seen in the past, and often what she saw was not pretty. But somehow, she has the gift of spinning any situation, good or bad into a more profound reality to encourage a person to dream for a better way of life.

“When We Were Young” can be purchased at Consignment Envy and Southern Lady, two Walterboro-area businesses.
