The Pediatric Sickle Cell Anemia Clinic of the Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital in Charleston, South Carolina was presented 37 juvenile handmade quilts donated by quilters who are members of New Life United Methodist Church People of Wisdom, St. Peter’s African Methodist Episcopal Church Women’s Missionary Societies, The Lowcountry Scrap Quilters, Traveling Quilters of Georgia and South Carolina, and Mrs. Carol Devany of Walterboro, S.C.

The ladies worked for several months making beautiful quilts that would provide comfort and joy to youth patients during their stay in the hospital. Presenting the quilts to the MUSC Staff for distribution were Gloristine Williams, Lillie Singleton, and Wantina Teasdale.

If you are a quilter and would like to present a quilt for our next donation drive in 2025, please contact Lillie Singleton at 843-599-2334 or Facebook. Quilts accepted must never have been used and suitable for newborns to 18 years old.
