The Colleton County Sheriff’s Department has released an update on the missing persons case involving Ms. Tanya Dunning, In a press release the Sheriff Department stated, “Ms. Dunning (54) of Walterboro has unfortunately been located deceased in a wooded area off of Bomar Place on Sunday, April 19, 2026. This location was not far from where she was last seen. An autopsy is scheduled at MUSC later this week to determine her cause and manner of death. The investigation is ongoing, and updates will be sent as appropriate. At this time, we have no other information that can be released.”
Dunning had been reported missing on Thursday, April 16. She had last been seen on Sunday April 12th and had an undisclosed health condition.
