The Colleton Prep War Hawk Softball team defeated Orangeburg Prep 13-10 Thursday April 22 on the road. The win improved the Lady Hawks to 9-2 overall and 4-0 in Region IV-AA. They will begin competition in the SCISA AA State Softball Tournament on Friday, May 7.
Haley Bootle earned the win, allowing no earned runs on three hits, striking out six and issuing three walks. Becca Martin closed the game, allowing three earned runs on four hits, striking out one and issuing three walks. Weslin Jones was 3-4 with 5-RBI’s and scored twice to lead Colleton Prep at the plate. Rianna Bailey went 3-4 with 2-RBI’s and scored once. Taylor Tomedolskey and Linley Jones had multiple hits in the game. Bootle, Becca Martin, and Makenzie Pellum had a hit each.
The Lady Hawks are scheduled to play three non-conference games this week, including Hilton Head High School on Tuesday, April 27, James Island High School Wednesday on April 28, and Patrick Henry Academy on Friday, April 30.
