WALTERBORO - Mr. Darren Victor Sarine, 59, of Walterboro, entered into rest Saturday morning, May 16, 2026, at the Veteran’s Victory House in Walterboro. Born May 4, 1967, in Moncks Corner, South Carolina, he was a son of the late Victorine Sarine, Jr. and the late Levelia Frierson Sarine. Darren served faithfully during the Gulf War in the United States Army Reserve and was a longtime associate of the Belk Department Store in Walterboro where he retired after many years of faithful service. He was a member of the choir of Grover Methodist Church. Darren was preceded in death by his husband, George Durden in 2022, his grandson, Jake Carson in 2023, and is survived by: two daughters, Luanne Blanton (Gary) of Spartanburg, and Lisa Gerenser (Bob) of Roanoke, Virginia; two brothers, Gerry Sarine (Renee) of Summerville and Emory Leverette of Kingstree, A sister, Mandi Nance (Robert) of Kartford, Kansas; grandchildren, Carla Wagner , Joel Carson (Terry), Coleman Carson (Emily), Kara Gerenser (Brandon Barr), and Kellen Gerenser; great grandchildren, Kaylee Turner, Judah Turner, Silas Wagner, Marley Barr, Magnolia Barr, Coleden Carson, Cameron Carson and Joseph Carson; nieces, Katrina Leveille (Jamon), Jaime Bowen, Alexis Sarine and Amber Sarine; nephews, Christopher Yeo, Cody Yeo, Tucker Nance and Zachary Nance; great nephews, Austin Bendorf, Hogan Bendorf, Elias Bendorf, Levi Bendorf and Draven Leveille. A graveside service was held 11 o’clock in Doctor’s Creek Baptist Churchyard, Walterboro. Arrangements By: The Brice W.
