Born April 1, 1949, entered the world as an April Fool’s Day baby and spent her life living up to the joy of that date. She brought humor, warmth, and unmistakable personality wherever she went, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew her.  The beloved daughter of the late Paul Edgar and Deser Lee Doctor-Generette completed her earthly journey on December 29, 2025, and took her place among the ancestors, forever woven into the story of those she loved. Growing up as one of twelve siblings, Barbara proudly held her place as the fourth youngest. That role helped shape her quick wit, resilience, and ability to firmly stand her ground. Family was a central part of her life. Those bonds remained strong throughout her years by way of spirited debates with her brothers, meaningful conversations with her sisters, and the historic recollection of ancestral facts with the family. From childhood, Barbara was taught that her life should be guided by her Christian faith.  As a devoted, life-long member of Cypress Creek Christian Church, over the years, she continued to gain wisdom, knowledge, and understanding as she chose to live her beliefs through kindness, honesty, and genuine care for others. Her love for God and her community was evident not only in her words, but in the way she treated people every day. Barbara was a proud graduate of Colleton High School, Class of 1967.  She remained closely connected to her classmates throughout her life, faithfully attending reunions and events. She later continued her education at Beaufort Technical College, where she strengthened her clerical skills.  Barbara valued education, hard work, independence, and self-determination; principles that guided her life and shaped her into a confident woman who lived on her own terms. Her early employment included working at The Pantry as a store clerk and with Raleigh Williams Realty as an administrative assistant.  Barbara ultimately found her calling in healthcare, working as an Admissions Assistant at Colleton Medical Center. Her career continued after relocating to Delaware, where she was employed at Wilmington Medical Center. In every role, she was known for her dependability, compassion, and professionalism. Barbara was a loving and devoted mother to Craig Generette and Tymeeko Clark, and a cherished mother-in-law to Steven Clark. One of her greatest joys was being “Mom Mom” and “Grammy” to her beloved granddaughters, Cheyenne Hunter and Chakira Generette, who filled her life with pride, laughter, and purpose. Her love for them was unwavering and unconditional. The Pink Memorial for Barbara Generette was held on February 14, 2026, at Cypress Creek Christian Church. Though no longer with us in body, her lessons and presence will live on forever.
