Two candidates are running to fill a seat on Edisto Beach Town Council.

Edisto Beach residents Kena Minnick and Joseph Bagwell are both seeking to sit on Edisto Beach Town Council. Both are seeking to take an unexpired term that was created by former Councilman Crawford Moore, who recently won the town’s mayoral election and left his council seat in mid-term.

There are two years left on Moore’s election seat.

To fill this remaining time on his council seat, Edisto Beach is holding a special election on Tuesday, Feb. 1st. Filing ended at 12 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 3rd for any candidates wanting to run in this election: at the end of filing, only Minnick and Bagwell had completed all necessary paperwork.

On election day, polls will open at 7 a.m. and will remain open until 7 p.m. The polling location will be held at Edisto Beach Town Hall, located at 2414 Murray Street. This is a non-partisan election for council, meaning there is no political affiliation with the seat or the candidate.
