WHAM! Festival has Busy Opening Weekend

The 2024 Walterboro History Art’s and Music Festival with several well attended events over the weekend. The Colleton Civic Center hosted the Lowcountry Youth Dance Academy production of Snow White on May 4. The ballet under the direction of Sarah Walborn featured dancers from around the state and a feeder to the Governors School for the Arts. Also, the Beaufort Harbor Masters Hosted their Annual Spring Concert at the Bethel United Methodist Church on Sunday at 3pm. The show featured the Harbor Master Chorus and the Quartet Rare and Well Done. The music was a mix of Doo Wop, Barbershop, and Religious music.

In addition to the concerts the weekend included other events around town and kicked of the Festival with a Kick-Off “Mrs. Roper” Art Gallery Crawl. On May 3. The WHAM Festival continues until May 11th with events and classes all over Walterboro. They also have galleries open at various locations, the Elementary School Gallery is open at The Wildlife Center, The Middle School Gallery is at the Colleton Civic Center, and the WHAM! Gallery is in the Colleton Museum and Farmers Market. The Festival wraps up on May 11 at 5pm, with a Finale Concert and Awards at the Wildlife Center.
