Two adult females died, and an adult male was seriously injured in a two vehicle head-on collision on Highway 15 at Timberwood Road near Canadys Friday morning, March 20th. A southbound Toyota Tacoma pickup truck and a northbound Toyota Corolla collided blocking the rural highway. The two unrestrained occupants of the Corolla received multiple traumatic injuries and were trapped in the wreckage. The restrained driver of the pickup received non-life threatening injuries. Firefighter-Paramedics determined the two occupants of the Corolla had no signs of life and requested the Coroner’s Office who responded to the location. The driver of the Tacoma was treated at the scene and transported to Colleton Hospital in Walterboro. The highway was blocked for several hours while the South Carolina Highway Patrol and Coroner’s Office are investigating the accident.
