The Final Judgement

Posted

Reading the Bible with me? Let’s finish up with a longer reading. Read Revelation 16-22. Revelation 20:11-15 tell us of the impending “Great White Throne Judgment”. This is a judgement of those who are without a personal, life-changing relationship with the Lord Jesus. They will “be judged according to their works by what was written in the books.” (v. 12). This will likely be a record of opportunities to know the Lord Jesus that were spurned as well as a record of evil deeds. The primary reason for this judgement is the “Book of Life”. Verse 15 says that anyone whose name was not written in the “Book of Life” was thrown in the lake of fire. Everyone who has ever lived who is without the Lord Jesus at that time will be face to face with the One Who gave Himself for them. But it will be too late then. Because their name was not written in the “Book”, they will be banished from the presence of God for eternity. That is Hell.

The coming of the Lord Jesus for His Church is closer than ever. Who among your circles of influence need to be reminded of the grace, mercy, and unconditional love of Jesus? Who among them needs to be reminded that any opportunity spurned is potentially their last? Who among them needs to be encouraged to respond to the Father’s invitation to come to His Son before it is too late?

May your New Year’s resolution be that no one you care about will go into eternity without the Lord Jesus because you did not pray for them, set a proper example before them, and talk to them about the importance of knowing, loving, and following Jesus.

May this new year be the year you become His witness.

My prayer is that you have become a more disciplined student of the word, a greater lover of the word, and more obedient to the word. God bless you all! May the new year be filled with blessings as you continue to grow in your faith.
