Miriam Elizabeth Smith was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world June 12, 2023 at the age of 79. She was born to Andrew Jackson Barwick and Lizzie Bernese Stanfield on November 27, 1943 in Walterboro, S.C. and was the eighth of nine siblings: Cora Elma Batchelor, Nell Walters, Jack Barwick, Jane Lee Hughes, Joe Barwick, Marguerite Newman, Carrol Barwick, and George Barwick. After graduating high school, Miriam married and had four children: Bobby, Carmen, Ronald, and Richard. Miriam remarried Garland Smith, October 31, 1992, gaining a stepdaughter, Jennifer. Miriam was a prominent painter with a passion for detail. She was a loving soul who puts others above herself and had a sense of humor that lit up any room. She was a generous, loving mother and artist who cared deeply for everyone. Her giddiness and humor have always been a delight to be around. Her detail in artistry brought more color and creativity with pleasure to so many. The world has been left a better more colorful place having her in it. She will be deeply missed, till we meet again.
