Shondi Brown received an early Christmas present last week when she signed a National Letter of intent to play softball for North Carolina A&T. By signing early, Brown will be eligible to play softball in the spring for the Aggies. Brown becomes the first Cougar Athlete to sign during the early signing period from Colleton County High School.

Brown was an all-around athlete who excelled in whatever sport she was participating in. She holds several track records, played volleyball and basketball and excelled in softball. She lettered four years, was a four-year starter earning all-region, and all-state honors during her career.

When speaking of Brown, all of her former coaches express her desire, determination and her athletic ability in all sports. She was always trying to make herself better.

Assistant Coach Rusty Adams said,” she was coachable and had that desire to be and effort to be successful. Real happy for Shondi receiving this scholarship and hope for nothing but happiness and good fortune in her days at A&T.”

Brown said,” I chose A&T because I felt the coaches and players were amazing to be around. It is a beautiful campus and I felt like I was home. I plan on majoring in biology and they have a good program there.

Shanti’s mom said,” I am really proud of her and excited for her as she begins this chapter in her life. I would like to thank all her coaches and everyone who had a part of making this day possible.
