A 27-year-old male accidentally shot himself in the thigh while performing maintenance on his pistol. He was in the parking lot of the Family Dollar store on Robertson Boulevard. He received a serious injury with suspected complications to his leg. Walterboro Police Department secured the scene and Firefighter-Paramedics treated the man on site. No medical helicopters were immediately available. He was transported to the Trauma Center at Trident Medical Center in North Charleston. The Walterboro Police Department is investigating the incident.
