Press Release USC Salkehatchie

Ashlyn Sarvis, a setter from Colleton County High School, has signed to play volleyball with USC Salkehatchie this fall. Sarvis says she is excited to represent the Walterboro community on the court.

"To play college volleyball in my hometown is a dream,” Sarvis said. “It shows that anything is possible if you try!”

Ashlyn started playing volleyball when she was 12 years old because of her mother.

“I love volleyball – especially the diving and the running. It keeps your adrenaline up,” Ashlyn said. “I hope to bring positive energy to the program and provide support to my teammates.”

Aquino says she is excited to showcase local talent and hopes to attract additional local athletes to her program. “Ashlyn is a gem. She has an incredibly positive and bubbly personality. She holds the relationships she creates with her teammates close to her heart and cherishes them. That’s an admirable quality.”

Sarvis plans to major in nursing at USC Salkehatchie. Through Salkehatchie’s partnership with USC Beaufort, Ashlyn will be able to complete all four years of the BSN program at the Walterboro campus.

Ashlyn will be working at the USC Salkehatchie Volleyball Summer Camp in July. For more information and to register for the camp, go to https://www.uscsalkathletics.com/post/register-for-volleyball-camp
