A family of two was displaced after the RV they used as a residence was destroyed in a fire Wednesday afternoon July 12. 9-1-1 received a report of the fire in the 500 block of Rowe Lane north of Round O Crossroads. The caller advised a camper used as a residence was on fire. Colleton Fire-Rescue arrived to find the older model recreational vehicle fully engulfed in flames. The RV was located well off the road in a wooded area. A nearby vehicle as well as a great deal of debris was also on fire. No injuries were reported during the incident. The RV and all the people’s belongings were destroyed. The Red Cross is assisting the family.
