Vandria Steward is a native of Ruffin, S.C., who currently resides in Aiken. She is a first-time author of a children's picture book that has just been released and is available on Amazon. The book is called “The Twin World of Lacole and Nacole,” which Steward both wrote and illustrated.

The book is based on Steward’s life growing up as an identical twin. It’s written for ages 3-8, but according to Steward, it's on a level for anyone to enjoy and learn more about twins.

In addition to her new children's book, Steward has also started a Little Free library in Ruffin. The name of my library is the "Blair and Rudy Library” named as a memorial to my baby nephew and little brother/cousin who passed away.

The library is located on the property of Steward’s parents and can be found on the Little Free Library nonprofit organization’s map. Her library is Charter #132827. Their slogan is "Take a book-Share a book.”

“I set this up for several reasons: I love collecting children’s books and wanted to find a way to share more books with children, to promote literacy, and because the local library is miles away in Walterboro,” said Steward. “Most importantly, I wanted to provide free books for the children in my home community where I grew up. My parents look after it, but I'm constantly collecting books for the library along with taking trips on available weekends to replenish it with more books.”
