A single vehicle accident on Round O Road at Fleming Road seriously injured the driver on February 27. The southbound vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed and failed to negotiate a curve. The car overcorrected and struck the ditch embankment and overturned. Bystanders immediately provided aid to the unconscious victim and pulled the man from the car. Colleton County Fire-Rescue arrived provided treatment and requested a medical helicopter. CARE Flight flew the man to the Trauma Center at Trident Medical Center. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
