Rotary Welcomes Salkahatchie Basketball to its January Meeti

The Walterboro Rotary Club held its January 14th meeting at the Colleton Commercial Kitchen. The meeting was called to order by Rotary President, David Smalls. After recitation of the four principals of Rotary, the Pledge of Allegiance, and the Invocation. Rotary Members also received an update on the news of the day from Rototatarian Scott Lockwood.

The guest speaker for this week’s meeting was USC Salkehatchie Head Basketball Coach, Matt Lynch. He along with five members of the team and Assistant Coach, Christian White attended. Lynch spoke about the current season where the team is having a phenomenal year with a 15 and 2 record placing them at number one in the nation with 13 regular season games left to play at the time this article was written. The team is made up of players from as far away as Australia and Greece with 8 players being international and 6 from South Carolina. Lynch is very proud of the fact that the players collectively have a team GPA of 3.6. Salk Basketball has a great lineup of games left to play this season and invite resident to come out to support the Indians. Games are played at the Salk Gym on Strickland Street in Walterboro.
