Sprint Storm Track & Field Makes Strong Debut at Lowcountry Speedway Championships

On Saturday, June 13, 2026, Colleton County’s newly formed Sprint Storm Track & Field team made an impressive debut at the Lowcountry Speedway Championships held at CCSD Regional Stadium in North Charleston.

Athletes competed in age and gender divisions in the 100-meter, 200-meter, and 400-meter sprints; the 800-meter and 1,500-meter runs; the 100-meter hurdles; and the shot put. For many of the athletes, this marked their very first track meet, and they represented Sprint Storm with determination, sportsmanship, and pride.

The team returned home with an outstanding 6 Gold Medals, 4 Silver Medals, and 2 Bronze Medals, highlighting a successful start to the inaugural season.

Every athlete gave their best effort, and Sprint Storm coaches were incredibly proud of the resilience, heart, and determination displayed throughout the day despite the summer heat.

“This meet gave our athletes valuable experience, confidence, and momentum as we continue building throughout the season,” said Coach Faith Calloway.

Coaches Faith Calloway, Megan Calloway, and Ayanna Kelly commended every athlete for competing with grit, encouraging one another, and proudly representing the Sprint Storm family. As a first-year program, Sprint Storm continues to establish itself as one of the area’s rising youth track and field organizations, and the coaching staff looks forward to an exciting season ahead.
