WALTERBORO – Mr. Charles Anthony Ricketson, Sr., 80, of Walterboro, entered into rest Friday morning, August 21, 2026. Born August 24, 1945, in Charleston, South Carolina, he was a son of the late Ben and Essie Mae SmoakRicketson. Mr. Ricketson served our country faithfully in the United States Army where he saw action during both the Vietnam Era and Korean Conflict. He was honored with many awards for his valiant service, part ofwhich was the two tours of duty he served in Vietnam. He retired from South Carolina Electric and Gas as an Electric Technician.

He was a Master Mason, having been a life member and Past Master of Bethlehem Masonic Lodge in Round O. He was also a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Surviving are: his wife, Mrs. Beth Caddell Ricketson; son, Charles A. Ricketson, Jr. (Ashley); daughter, Angela R.Lowery (Harold); five grandchildren, Dustin, Lindsey (Trey), Cierra (Scott), Zachary (Mackenzie), and Tre; andfour great grandchildren, Sebastian, Abigail, Kennedy Mae, and Austin; as well as two sisters, Shirley Newcomband Rosie Soderland and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son, Tracy Alan Ricketson; as well as five siblings, Carolyn Marchant, Marion Marchant, Jake Ricketson, Bennie Tapley, Betty Ricketson. Funeral services were held at 12 o’clock noon, Thursday afternoon, August 27, 2026, from The Brice W.Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. The Reverend Dr. Zane Brown officiated. Interment withMilitary Honors followed in Woodland Cemetery near Canadys.Arrangements By: The Brice W.
