The Crime Stoppers of the Lowcountry is now offering a reward that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person who shot and killed a Walterboro man.

Skilar Brown was shot to death in January. His body was found by Walterboro police officers in an open field, near the intersection of Lambert Street and Sniders Highway in Walterboro. He had been shot multiple times, according to information given by Crime Stoppers.

Brown was last seen alive on Jan. 13th at about 8:20 p.m. in the area of Druid Hills Apartments, located along Beach Road in Walterboro. Brown was an “avid user of dating apps,” according to Crime Stoppers, and he would frequently meet with people from various parts of the state using those dating apps.

Since finding his body, there have been no arrests in this case.

Crime Stoppers announced its $1,000 reward last week. The reward will be given to anyone who provides information that leads to an arrest and conviction in the case.

Anyone with information about Brown’s death is asked to call Crime Stoppers of the Lowcountry at 843-554-1111 or submit a tip at www.5541111.com.

The Walterboro Police Department is still investigating this case.
