Colleton County Fire-Rescue reported that a 22-year-old female was fatally injured in a shooting incident at a residence on Red Bank Road, Tuesday afternoon November 14th. The woman was in critical condition at the scene. An off-duty Dorchester County Firefighter rendered aid shortly after the incident occurred. Firefighter-Paramedics treated the patient at the scene which included the administration of whole blood. Fire-Rescue Medic 26 met with the CARE Flight helicopter; the patient was flown to the Trauma Center at MUSC in Charleston where she succumbed to her injuries. The circumstances surrounding the shooting are still under investigation by the Colleton County Sheriff’s Office.
