A Ruffin home was heavily damaged in an afternoon fire at 415 Quarters Drive Saturday April 13. 9-1-1 received several reports of flames coming from the home. Engine 18, Medic 18 and Tender 18 arrived minutes later to find the single wide mobile home approximately 50% involved. Firefighter-Paramedics deployed multiple handlines to the building and made entry through the front door. They were able to stop the spread of the fire from reaching the north end of the residence, but the home received substantial damage. Crews were on the scene for two hours. The fire was intentionally set and Sheriff’s Deputies took one man into custody.
