Colleton County adults can participate in a little pickleball action at the Colleton County Recreation Department.

Players can use two indoor courts for the sport at the county’s recreation complex, located in Walterboro. Paddles and balls are included with a $1 fee that is charged per person, per game.

An annual Pickleball Tournament is also held by the recreation department. This tourney is usually held between February and April for participating players.

According to Colleton County Recreation Department Direction Chris Myers, the local gym is reserved for community pickleball use on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 8am-Noon, and Sundays between 2pm and 4pm.

Night Pickleball is every Tuesday and Thursday from 6pm-8pm.

“PickleBall is available anytime unless the courts have previously been reserved,” said Myers. “It’s an activity that our community seems to enjoy.”  If you have any questions please contact us at 843-538-3031.

Interested Colleton residents can also join a Pickleball Club Membership, which is free.
