New industry will bring 75 jobs

Wayne Brothers Companies will open a facility in Walterboro, creating 75 jobs., Wayne Brothers Companies of Davidson, N.C., a leader in Concrete Construction, Civil & Infrastructure and Industrial Contracting, has announced that the company will locate a new regional operations center in Walterboro., The new operations center is part of a long-term plan to support growing businesses in South Carolina and Georgia. Wayne Brothers will invest $7 million and create 75 jobs.

Keith Wayne, president and CEO of Wayne Brothers, said, “After meeting with community leaders, we knew Colleton County was where we wanted to make an investment. We are committed to developing over 33 acres in the Colleton Venture Park where we will have construction management, recruitment and human resources staff,” said Wayne. “Further, we will have a construction equipment maintenance shop and a construction trade skills training center, supported by a $300,000 training grant from South Carolina. Our subsidiary, Preferred Construction Supply Inc., will co-locate on this site with a distribution center to fulfill the needs of Wayne Brothers and other construction-related contractors across the two-state region.”
