New Hope Church of Islandton was built in 1898 and did not have a baptistry. Previously, all baptisms were held in other locations such as Dempsey Landing.
One June 2, 2024, Pastor Mark Givens performed two of the first baptisms inside the actual church on Grayson Bishop and Katelyn Padgett.
