New commander for American Legion

The American Legion Post 93 Walterboro has elected a new commander. Jeffrey F. Jones was elected after the passing of Captain John Wallace who served as Post 93 commander for (insert time here).

Jones was born November 8, 1955 at the Patuxent River Naval Air Station in Maryland. His father was a career Navy Chief Petty Office and his mother was a United States Marine. He grew up in various places such as Oakland, C.A., Norfolk, V.A., Mayport, F.L., Goode Creek, S.C., and James Island, S.C. Jones finished school and joined the United States Army. He was stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, M.O., Fort Jackson, S.C., Fort Bragg, N.C., West Germany, Fort Rucker, A.L., Honduras, Fort Campbell, K.Y., Fort Benjamin Harrison, I.N., Fergus Falls, M.N., Fremont, N.E., Japan, Korea, Fort Stewart, G.A., and Homestead AFB, F.L. Mr. Jones retired after 20 years and 6 days of active service.

After retiring from the Army, he started a second career in food industry logistics and was first based in Fort Smith, A.R. for seven years. He then moved to Lincoln, N.E. where he worked in the same industry for 20 more years before retiring at the end of April 2022.

Jeffrey Jones has been an American Legion member nationally for 30 years and recently became a member of Post 93. For Jones, it has felt like a welcome home.
