Narcotics seized in search

Colleton County investigators seized a large quantity of narcotics during the execution of a search warrant.

On Friday Sept. 4, investigators arrested three people in connection to the warrant in the 100 block of Dream Lane.

While conducting the search, investigators seized 40 pre-portioned bags of illegal substances which tested positive for heroin, methamphetamine, and fentanyl. Investigators also seized various assorted pills, over an ounce of marijuana, and an illegal weapon.

Deputies arrested Jervey Chaplin, 33; Kristie Crosby, 27; and April Boyce, 46.

The three suspects face multiple charges, including possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and possession with intent to distribute heroin.

Chaplin was additionally charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

The investigation remains open and active.

“It has always been the Colleton County Sheriff’s office top priority on keeping our community safe, and we will continue to do so,” said Sheriff Charles Ghent.
