Multiple Firearms and Narcotics Seized

The Colleton County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Team conducted an undercover investigation that lasted from November 2025 through January 2026. During the course of the investigation, investigators seized approximately 115 grams of methamphetamine.

On January 23, 2026, deputies executed a search warrant at 104 Michelle Lane, Round O. As a result of that search, investigators seized approximately 209 grams of methamphetamine, 20 firearms, and $5,214 in U.S. currency.

As a result of the investigation and search warrant, Dwayne Edward Wheat and Elizabeth Joanne Wheeler were arrested. Wheeler was arrested on a General Sessions Bench Warrant and for Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine in the 1st Offense. Wheeler received a $20,000 cash surety bond and is currently being held at the Colleton County Detention Center.

Wheat was charged with the following offenses: Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine in the 1st offense, Trafficking Cocaine Base (Crack), 10g but less than 28g in the 2nd offense (multiple counts)

Trafficking Cocaine Base (Crack), 28g but less than 100g-2nd offense (multiple counts), Trafficking Methamphetamine, more than 200g but less than 400g, Possession of a Weapon During the Commission of a Violent Crime (4 counts), Possession of Other Controlled Substances, Schedule I-V in the 1st Offense. Wheat received a $227,00 cash surety bond and was released on January 26, 2026.
