Colleton County Sheriff’s Deputies are investigating the fatal shooting of an adult male in a February 24th incident. Sgt. Laura Rutland reported that Deputies responded to a 911 call of a reported argument followed by gunshots on La Dolce Avenue in Ridgeville. When deputies arrived, they found a deceased male on the roadway and pulled him to a safe location behind their vehicles. Deputies provided first aid to the victim until Colleton County Fire-Rescue arrived. Firefighter-Paramedics found no signs of life upon evaluation of the man’s injuries. Witnesses provided information that led to the identification of potential suspects. This incident is being investigated by the Colleton County Sheriff’s Office. As of press time the Colleton County Coroner’s Office has not yet released the victim’s identity.
