In the ongoing saga connected to the Murdaugh family, the wrongful death suit filed by Mallory Beach’s family will go forward. Beach was thrown overboard February 23, 2019, in a boating accident and her body was found March 3, 2019. Paul Murdaugh, son of Alex Murdaugh, was accused of operating the boat at the time of the incident. In a shocking turn of events Paul Murdaugh along with his mother Maggie Murdaugh were shot and killed June 7, 2021, and Alex Murdaugh was convicted of the crime. Alex Murdaugh will now be named as a defendant in Beach’s wrongful death trial scheduled to start August 14, 2023 in Hampton County.
