An adult male was injured in a single vehicle, high speed accident at the intersection of Powder Horn Road and Can City Road, Saturday evening, January 10th. The vehicle drove through the “T” intersection and entered the woods driving approx. 30 feet into the woods. The car went down an embankment and flipped over on its roof, trapping the driver. First arriving Colleton County Firefighter-Paramedics could speak to the man, but were unable reach him. Crews used a chainsaw to remove brush from around the car, then used rescue tools to gain access to the man. A CARE Flight was requested and responded to the parking lot at Circle C Truck Stop on Augusta Hwy near I-95. He was flown to the Trauma Center at MUSC in Charleston. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
