Colleton County Fire-Rescue along with other agencies conducted exercises the week of March 23rd. The drills included an emergency crash response at the Lowcountry Regional Airport, EOC training, a Hazmat Drill in the Foodland parking lot and a pet sheltering exercise. The large-scale exercise including closing the airport during the exercise that included a simulated plane crash, the drill included an element of surprise to challenge first responders. Other training included activating the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) to give procedure training to the agencies working in the EOC. The week also included training for pet sheltering . These drill are held to keep all First Responders and Agencies prepared for local emergencies.
