The Colleton Prep varsity softball team earned a non-conference win over Orangeburg Prep (10-8) Monday April 11 on the road. The Lady Hawks improved to 7-1 overall and remain 2-0 in Region IV-AA.
Colleton Prep built a seven-run lead heading into the fourth inning, then held off Orangeburg Prep’s charge to seal the win. In Monday’s game, Haley Bootle earned the win in the circle, allowing nine hits and eight runs over seven innings, striking out six.
Colleton Prep recorded nine hits in the game, with Taylor Tomedolskey, Sidney Bailey, and Caroline Kinard each going 2-3 at the plate. Linley Jones, Mackenzie Pellum and Becca Martin had a hit each.
Colleton Prep will travel to Thomas Heyward for a make-up game on April 13 then finish out the week before spring break on April 14 at home versus John Paul II.
