The Colleton Prep Lady Hawks earned their first Region I-AA win last week against Thomas Heyward (63-45) at home. Later in the week, they dropped a non-conference decision to Patrick Henry 56-37. They are now 6-9 overall and 1-4 in conference play.
In last Tuesday’s conference win over Thomas Heyward, Langley Harter led with 19 points, 7 rebounds and 5 steals. Rachel Wright contributed 17 points, 5 assists, 3 rebounds and 3 steals. Other scoring included Rianna Bailey 11, Taylor Tomedolskey 9, and Heather Davis 7.
Against Patrick Henry Friday Jan. 24, the Lady Hawks were led by Harter with 17 points. Wright added 9 points and Tomedolskey had 6 points. Other scoring included Rianna Bailey 2 and Heather Davis 1.
“The win over Thomas Heyward was a great region game for us,” said Coach Nicole Cain. “Friday night’s loss to Patrick Henry was a hard-fought game. The girls came up short. We couldn’t get our shots to fall until the fourth quarter. It was just too little, too late.”
Colleton Prep was scheduled to host region opponent John Paul II on Tuesday Jan. 28.
