The Colleton County Lady Cougars dropped a Region VII-AAAA game against James Island High School 56-49 on Tuesday, January 11 at home. Colleton County shot 39-percent overall in field goals and went 10-25 in free throws with 11 total rebounds.

Against James Island, Shandi Brown led Colleton County scoring 20 points with 7 rebounds. Makayla Chisolm added 14 points and claimed 2 rebounds. Other scoring included Heaven Green 7, Bethany Monroe 6, and Cherish McFadden 2.

“We played a pretty decent game overall against James Island,” said Coach Charles Lindsay. “We got a late start, allowing James Island to get up 15 points, but we were able to bring it back within two points. Unfortunately, we could not overcome the point deficient late in the fourth period.”

Colleton County’s home game versus Beaufort High School scheduled to be played Friday January 14 was postponed due to COVID-19 safety protocols for the Eagles.

The Lady Cougars will host May River High School on Friday, January 21 in Region VII-AAAA competition.
