The Colleton County Lady Cougar volleyball team dropped their season opener against Hilton Head High School in straight sets 25-8, 25-14 and 25-12 Thursday Sept. 10 at home.
“Bailey Cox played as our libero last week and played her defense very well with four great digs and touched every other ball that came her way,” said Coach Hannah Perritte. “We also pulled JV player Shandi Brown up for the game and she had one kill in the game. Makenzy Hand (Sr.) had one kill and one block.”
“Throughout the whole game varsity only missed three serves,” said Perritte. “We had one week of actual team practice to prepare for this game. Now, we know what to work on.”
The junior varsity team fell in two sets against Hilton Head 25-7, 25-9.
Colleton County was scheduled to host Beaufort High School Tuesday Sept. 15 then travel to Bluffton Thursday, Sept. 17. The junior varsity plays at 5:30 p.m. and the varsity follows at 7 p.m.
