The Colleton County Lady Cougar Volleyball team hosted the annual PRTC Volleyball Tournament on Saturday, August 14 at the Colleton County High School Gymnasium. The Lady Cougars went 3-0 in pool play, earning wins over Wade Hampton (25-9, 25-17), Andrew Jackson Academy (25-20, 25-22), and Whale Branch High School (25-15, 25-14).
Colleton County moved into Gold Bracket competition later in the day, where they would battle Patrick Henry Academy. The Lady Cougars dropped the contest (25-14, 26-24) earning runner-up in the Gold Division.
Hilton Head Prep earned the top spot in the Silver Bracket and Colleton Prep took first place in the Bronze Division.
“Our back row defense was led by Bailey Cox who did a phenomenal job playing defense and getting some great digs,” said Coach Hannah Perritte. “Jordan Slocum and Bethany Moore both played well. Carlie Erwin earned many kills throughout the day and Hannah Bunton got some great blocks, also. Teamwork was the key to our success Saturday. I am very proud of how well the girls worked together to pull this off.”
