Kaiden Kinard was selected for the USSSA’s All-State Games for South Carolina. The nomination and selection process were a difficult one as there were 840 players selected out of 19,811 players from 8u to 14u that participated in USSSA tournaments.  That puts Kaiden in the top 4% in South Carolina.

All players from the South Carolina regions competed at Tyger River Park in Spartanburg, SC on July 28th, 29th and 30th.

Kaiden won the 12u homerun derby and 12u Golden Arm competition.  The Home Run Derby is a hitting contest to see which player within their age group hits the most home runs using their own bat.

The Golden arm competition is a pitching challenge. Each Player will got 3 throws. The player received 5 points for a ball crossing the plate, 3 points crossing within the inside lines of the batter’s box and 1 point for crossing the batter’s box. The player with the most accumulated points was declared the winner in each age division.

Kaiden also got an invite to represent the state of South Carolina on team South Carolina in November in Panama City, Florida.  He had a .700 batting average for the tournament.
