The Jones Family has always wanted a family business. They had some friends in the retail tree lot business, talked about it for a while and just decided to go ahead and set up a Christmas Tree Lot.

Ryan Jones says, “I think for our first year we’re, very pleased with what we’ve had going on.” When asked about what he likes best about the business, “It’s meeting all these different people that are so happy to come here and how they love the country feel that it has to offer. We’ve tried to set ourselves aside from just a tent in a parking lot somewhere. I think we’ve achieved that based on some of the reviews we’ve gotten.”

Their trees are Fraser fir that come from Sparta, North Carolina in the Blue Ridge Mountains. They have trees from about 6 feet to 11 feet and even one 14-foot-tall tree. Each tree is unique from tall and skinny to wide and full.

In addition to Christmas trees the farm has handmade wreaths with Magnolia Poinsettias, Table Toppers. The wreaths are handmade by Jones daughter Riley. They have a wreathe making table to use clippings from the trees to make beautiful one of a kind custom wreath.

They have ornament kits put together for the children to make two ornaments and coloring books to give to all the kids. In addition, they have handmade ornaments as well, hot chocolate, smores, and soft drinks. A favorite activity this year is the letters to Santa. Jones says, “We have the North Pole mailbox here. The children can sit down here at the table and color a picture to Santa or write out a list and put it in the mailbox to get it to the North Pole.”

A live Christmas tree is a great holiday addition to your home, and Jones has some tips for keeping them fresh, I try to tell folks that the tree will take care of you if you take care of the tree. It’s very important to continue to make sure the tree has water. There’s a lot of other factors that that can make the tree go downhill sooner, like putting it in front of a vent or the temperature in home just being too high in general, very hot Christmas lights, or having the tree in a window that has direct sunlight the majority of the day. If you were to eliminate all those issues, the tree will last well past Christmas.

The farm is open Monday through Thursday, Noon through 8pm and Friday through Sunday, 10am to 9pm.

They are located at 1209 Highway 15 between St. George and in Grover.
